In a recent critique aired on SBS 6, Gordon has been harshly called out by Guido den Aantrekker during a segment on Shownieuws. With a clear tone, den Aantrekker remarked, “Let’s be honest, gang, that program was just really rubbish, wasn’t it?”

It’s no surprise that Gordon’s morning show on Radio 10 is being canceled after just one season. The program failed to gain traction, leading Talpa to negotiate with NPO Radio 2 duo Jan-Willem Roodbeen and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte, signaling that John de Mol had already given up hope with Goor.

Disappointment

Last week, Gordon hinted at possibly quitting due to the struggles of waking up early, expressing that his show was beyond saving. “This was the most expensive disappointment ever,” he lamented in front of the RTL Boulevard cameras.

Interestingly, his co-host, Froukje de Both, chimed in, “Haha, no, this was not a disappointment at all,” showing some light-heartedness amidst the backlash.

Gordon jokingly added, “Hahaha. I even bought a little house in Miami with it!” underscoring his humorous approach to the criticism.

‘To Cry For’ Ratings

Gordon described the show’s ratings as “just pathetic.” “Ultimately, we had to leave with these results, and that’s logical. I’d understand that if I were the boss of that channel,” he acknowledged.

Froukje supported this sentiment, asserting, “That’s just how it works. But I must say, I always drove to work here with a big smile. We had the best time together.”

A Bit Tough

Gordon made it clear he won’t pursue another morning show. “I hardly sleep four hours a night. That’s just unmanageable. I wake up way too early. I can’t fall asleep, and I don’t want to resort to sleeping pills anymore. That time has passed,” he explained.

He elaborated, “I think the combination of Gordon and the Radio 10 listener is just a bit intense. A lot of sex jokes often… You have to put a note next to those NMO listener ratings because it’s really just a rough estimate.”

Rubbish Program

Guido den Aantrekker believes it’s best to move on. “Let’s be honest, guys, that program was just really rubbish, wasn’t it? He only focuses on himself,” he stated on Shownieuws.

Despite previously working with Gordon and enjoying him as a person, den Aantrekker noted, “You can clearly see he has a bit of a narcissistic trait in everything he does. It always has to be about him. That silly laughter during a show only kicked the audience down further, as it was all done for his benefit.”

A Tenth

Guido expressed that Gordon was overreacting. “Guys, there are people in the country who earn less than a tenth of what he makes and still start working at five o’clock in the morning. If you can’t handle that, just get lost,” he asserted.

Ronald Molendijk concluded, “Isn’t the conclusion simply that making radio is genuinely a skill?”

Gordon replied, “Exactly.”
