Google Pixel 7 (Pro): Everything about features, design and price

Google has always had trouble keeping new smartphones under wraps. The upcoming Pixel 7 Pro has now seemingly gotten into the hands of an electronics store.

Well before the actual release in October 2022, a video appeared on Facebook showing the Google Pixel 7 Pro from all sides. It was uploaded by the account of electronics store Gadgetfull BD from Bangladesh.

Insight into the new Google smartphone

Google already showed the first renderings of the Pixel 7 Pro at the I/O developer conference in May 2022. At the time, the company not only announced key data such as a second-generation Tensor chip and Android 13. The new design can also be seen in its entirety in the renderings.

The smartphone shown in the leaked video corresponds to the exterior that Google has already shown. Not only the oval and round camera covers in the raised base on the back of the device – the camera bar – match. The Google Pixel logo and the layout of the buttons and charging port are also identical.

The video shows the black version of the Google Pixel 7 Pro with a silver-colored aluminum camera bar. At the beginning, an unknown person takes the smartphone out of the packaging, which appears to be intended for retail.

After removing the screen protector, the person turns on the smartphone. You will then see the boot animation and the first page of the setup process. There, users are greeted with the phrase “Welcome to your Pixel”.

We already know that about the Google Pixel 7

Apart from the external appearance, the leaked video does not give us any further information about the Google Pixel 7. Nevertheless, it can be considered certain that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro probably have a similar camera structure to their predecessors. The Pixel 7 comes with a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle camera. Google’s Pixel 7 Pro then also has a telephoto lens.

Google itself confirmed at the I/O in May that the second generation of the Tensor chip will be used in the Pixel 7. Tensor is Google’s first homegrown smartphone chip specifically tuned for the Pixel 6. We can expect higher performance, better energy efficiency and even more machine learning capabilities from the second generation.

So far, Google has shown four color variants: black, white, silver and mint green. It is striking that the “Kinda Coral” variant of the predecessors is missing. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in October. The smartphones start directly with the recently released Android 13.
