Google Maps learns new ways. At the same time, it starts showing notifications about traffic deviations from users of the Waze application as well. The topic has been discussed Maps and Waze’s in own publications.

It’s not a big surprise, because Google also owns the navigation application Waze. While Maps is a versatile map service, Waze has become known as a community navigation application. Its users can warn others, for example, of disturbances caused by traffic accidents or the presence of police officers.

First, warnings about newly spotted police patrols are coming to Maps.

When navigating in traffic, a window pops up in Maps telling you that Waze users have reported the police nearby. In the future, other reports from Waze users will also start to be visible to Maps users.

The pop-up will automatically disappear after a short while if the user does not react to it. You can also close it immediately if you wish. In addition, the window asks if the police is still detectable. It is precisely the confirmations of other users that help Waze and Maps to ensure that the warnings given are up-to-date and correct.
