Golfino AG ceases business activities

The golf clothing brand Golfino, based in Glinde, Schleswig-Holstein, is finally on the verge of extinction. The brand, which was once one of Europe’s leading golf brands, ceased operations on February 29, 2024. The online shop was closed on February 26th. The company announced this to media and customers in a letter and on the brand’s website.

In August 2023, Golfino had to file for bankruptcy. The company cited increased costs and consumer reluctance as reasons. Golfino had already gone through insolvency proceedings in 2019 and was subsequently taken over by the British investment company Endless. Since then, the company has operated under the name International Leisure Brands (Germany). Endless wanted to strategically develop the Golfino brand, as the then insolvency administrator explained.

Golfino was founded in 1986 by Christel and Bernd Kirsten and was represented in many European countries. In 2011, the company operated over 30 of its own stores and over 500 shop-in-shops as well as subsidiaries in Great Britain, Portugal and Spain. Until it went bankrupt in 2019, the company employed around 250 people.
