Golf pro Yannik Paul impresses with eighth place at the British Masters

Golf pro Yannik Paul has again recorded a top placement on the DP World Tour. The 29-year-old from Mannheim finished the British Masters in Sutton Coldfield with a total score of 283 strokes in shared eighth place.

The currently best German golf pro, who had to cancel his start in Munich a week ago due to back pain, was five strokes behind the winner Daniel Hillier at the end of the tournament, which was worth 3.5 million US dollars. For the 24-year-old New Zealander it was the first victory on the former European tour. He won ahead of Gunner Wiebe from the USA and England’s Oliver Wilson (both 280 strokes).

The second best German near Birmingham was Marcel Siem from Rating. After four rounds on the par 72 course, the 42-year-old finished in 23rd place with 285 strokes.

With another top ten placement, Paul underscored his ambitions to take part in the Ryder Cup from September 29th to October 1st in Rome. Siem also hopes to be part of the prestigious continental comparison between the best golfers from Europe and the USA.
