In the championship organized by the European Golf Association (EGA), the national team, which participated in the competitions with a total of 8 athletes, including men’s and women’s teams, returned home. The national team players, who came to Istanbul from Budapest at 17.20 on the plane of Turkish Airlines (THY), made statements at Istanbul Airport. Golf Federation Sporting Director Erol Şimşek, who made a statement about the championship, said, “Women came first in the championship, while men came in 3rd. We returned to Turkey with 1 gold and 1 bronze medal. We are very happy, the girls showed an incredible success.”
National athlete Can Gürdenli, on the other hand, expressed his feelings by saying, “We are very happy with the position. The day we lost the 2nd match, we were very upset, but we did not give up. On the last day, we went to the match as if it was the first day and we won the bronze medal.”
Zeynep Süalh, captain of the Golf Women’s National Team, who became the European Champion as a team, said, “We had a really good and successful week. It wasn’t easy, we worked hard, it’s really proud to return successfully.”
