Golden Boy 2022: list of nominees reduced to 40 talents – SC Freiburg’s Sildillia new

With 11 Bundesliga professionals

In a further step, the list of 60 players for the “Golden Boy” award was reduced to 40 remaining youngsters. Eleven Bundesliga players can still hope. In the case of the Italian “tuto sport” Initiated award, the talents are voted on who stood out in their clubs and national teams through particularly good performances within the last calendar year – i.e. across seasons. Initially published in mid-June with 100 names, the list was reduced by 20 players on the 15th of each month – with a final cut in October, leaving only 20 talents for the final vote. While numerous candidates are no longer there, six new ones have been added, including Freiburg’s Kiliann Sildillia (20) and Eindhoven’s Xavi Simons (19). Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko (17), PSG newcomer Hugo Ekitiké (20) and Bayer Leverkusen’s 13 million euro purchase Adam Hlozek (20) were all eliminated.
