The Berlinale 2023 had it all again: At the 73rd award ceremony, 18 films competed for the Golden and Silver Bears. A total of productions from 19 countries were shown – 15 films celebrated their premiere in Germany’s capital

This year, too, the international jury, consisting of Kristen Stewart, Radu Jude, Valeska Grisebach, Golshifteh Farahani, Francine Maisler, Carla Simón and Johnnie To, awarded the following prizes: As usual, the Golden Bear goes to the producers of the best film. Silver Bears are also awarded in the categories “Best Director”, “Best Actor in a Leading Role”, “Best Actor in a Supporting Role”, “Best Screenplay”, “Grand Jury Prize”, “Jury Prize” and “Outstanding artistic achievement” awarded. As always, the jury cannot award more than one prize to a film – only the awards for the actors and actresses are exempt from this.
