The German Nordic combined athletes just missed another medal chance at the Olympic Winter Games in China on Tuesday. Manuel Faißt took fourth place as the best German. The Norwegian Joergen Graabak won gold after a jump from the large hill and a cross-country ski race over ten kilometers.
His teammate Jarl Magnus Riiber started the race as the top favorite and was leading – before he suffered a remarkable breakdown. This had consequences: in the end he finished eighth, even if the fears of the experts did not materialize.
