Goalkeeper talent Johannes Schenk receives a professional contract

Bayern Munich has provided Johannes Schenk with a professional contract. The 19-year-old signed until 2024 and could follow in Manuel Neuer’s footsteps.

FC Bayern has equipped goalkeeper talent Johannes Schenk (19) with a professional contract. As the German champion announced on Thursday, the contract runs until 2024. Schenk is number three behind Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich.

“Johannes has developed extremely well with us and we are convinced that he will take the next step as a professional. He is another great talent from our youth development program at the FC Bayern Campus, from whom we have great hopes for the future. Johannes has great reflexes and a long range – he brings everything with him,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Schenk switched from 1. FC Nürnberg to the U16 juniors of the German record champions in 2017 and played for the second team in nine regional league games last season. “It’s a great honor to be able to sign a professional contract with FC Bayern. When I came here five years ago, that was a long way off. I want to gain a lot of experience now and keep improving,” said Schenk.
