Goalkeeper Hoffmann is apparently about to change to the second division

Ron-Thorben Hoffmann has not left any traces in FC Bayern’s first team. Most recently he was loaned to England. Now he is apparently facing a commitment to a cult club.

All in all, Ron-Thorben Hoffmann played over 100 games for FC Bayern Munich – albeit for the youth and reserve teams. The talented goalkeeper only sat on the bench once for the senior team.

He then moved to England on loan to Sunderland FC last summer. There he made at least 23 third division games. However, a corona infection cost the 23-year-old his regular place – although he came back on the pitch despite a positive test.

“When I came back after seven days of quarantine, it went right back into the goal – although the rapid test was still slightly positive,” explained Hoffmann (Read all about Hoffmann’s corona infection here.). He misses the necessary 25 games in which a purchase clause would have applied.

Ambitious goalkeeper talent

Hoffmann’s future could now be in Germany again. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, Eintracht Braunschweig is said to be interested in signing the keeper. The deal is said to be “completed” by the start of training for the 1967 German champions on Monday, as stated in a corresponding article. The transfer fee is said to be around 300,000 euros.
