Goal drought over! Cristiano Ronaldo shoots Manchester United fourth

Team manager Ralf Rangnick has jumped to a Champions League spot with Manchester United in the Premier League.

After two previous league games without a win, the Red Devils defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 (0-0) in the catch-up game on Tuesday evening and pushed West Ham United into fifth place with 43 points.

Cristiano Ronaldo (51′) put ManUnited on the road to victory with his ninth goal of the season, ending their week-long lull, his compatriot Bruno Fernandes increased in injury time (90′ + 7′).

Brighton were also outnumbered by defender Lewis Dunk after a red card in the 54th minute.

The visitors from the south of England had the best chance in an uneventful first half, but goalkeeper David de Gea saved his team from falling behind with a brilliant save (39′).
