BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – The supermarket chain Go Asia is recalling instant noodles with chicken flavor. The product affected is “KAILO Instant Noodles Chicken Bowl 120 grams” from the Dutch importer Asia Express Food with a best-before date of January 20, 2027, as reported by thefoodwarning.de portal. Accordingly, glycidyl fatty acid esters were detected in the product.
According to the Federal Office for Risk Assessment (BfR), these are process-related contaminants in food. They arise, for example, when refining vegetable oils and fats, when accompanying substances are removed to eliminate an undesirable taste. Since the substances have the potential to be harmful to health, they are said to be undesirable in food.
According tofoodwarning.de, the product was on sale in all federal states with the exception of Bremen, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It can be returned to all Go Asia branches. The purchase price will be refunded./dmo/DP/stw
