Show jumper Daniel Deußer celebrated his second victory on the Global Champions Tour.

The Hesse, who lives in Belgium, prevailed in the Grand Prix in New York after having been the best in qualifying. With his stallion Tobago, he was the last to go into the jump-off and set the fastest ride in a penalty-free time of 41.07 seconds. Deußer received 100,000 euros for his victory.

On the Champions Tour, Deußer had already been at the top of the podium with bingo in Cannes. A few days ago he also won the tournament in Spruce Meadows, Canada, with his mare Killer Queen. For Tobago it was only the fourth tournament after a break. “I’m very happy and proud that Tobago is finally getting back into shape and I hope I can still enjoy it a bit,” said Deusser.

Only four riders stood in the jump-off in New York. Canadian Pieter Devos was second in 41.15 seconds. Sweden’s Malin Baryard-Johnsson secured third place. Marcus Ehning (Borken) finished eleventh with Priam du Roset after four penalties. Hans-Dieter Dreher (Eimeldingen/12 mistakes)) finished 27th with Elysium.
