The hundred largest arms companies in the world together achieved a record turnover of 679 billion dollars (about 585 billion euros) last year. That is 5.9 percent more than a year earlier, Sipri reports. The Swedish research institute attributes the growth mainly to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, which have sharply increased the demand for weapons.
