“I made that clear in my previous statement. There is certainly regret,” says Grace. “I am human and that does not mean that you can do everything. But it happened. (…) If only I could get it back, but I can’t. (…) If I could turn back time, I would have done it right away.”
Grace was arrested in mid-February after she went to the supermarket for redress because her son was allegedly attacked there. She allegedly assaulted several employees. At the beginning of April, the singer made her first extensive apologies for the violent incident. She then stated that she had acted out of maternal instinct and emotion, when she should have counted to ten.
On Thursday she performed again in Venlo for the first time in a long time. “I was received very warmly in the club and also by the public. So I can really squeeze my hands”, says Glennis. It did feel different, she admits. “The past period has made me a different person, also as an artist. It is of course very confronting to be on stage again after such an incident. You never know how people are going to react. Of course they are your fans, but you never know in advance.”
