Glenn Coldenhoff fifth in World Cup standings after first MXGP

Motocross rider Glenn Coldenhoff from Heesch finished ninth and third at the opening of the MXGP season. In the Great Britain Grand Prix he finished third in the second moto. Coldenhoff, 31, is now fifth in the standings. Brian Bogers from Eindhoven finished in a tie for ninth.

The first moto was won by Slovenian Tim Gajser. He had to settle for second place in the second race, which was won by Spaniard Jorge Prado.

Reigning world champion Jeffrey Herlings missed the start of the season in Winchester as he is still recovering from a fracture in his left foot.

The first Grand Prix of the season was postponed by a week due to last weekend’s storm.
