Glasses and watches for juniors: Komono launches its first children’s collection

Komono expands its range with a children’s collection.

The collection for “little rebels” will include glasses and watches, the Belgian eyewear brand announced on Wednesday. The junior collection is divided into two sections: Junior for six to eleven year olds and Teen for eleven to 15 year olds. Both lines have their “own identity,” according to Komono. Representing fun and curiosity, Komono has designed two mascots for the children’s line – Franky and Maximus – who aim to bring humor to the collection and encourage children to express themselves through accessories.

In addition to new creations with fresh colors and shapes, Komono has included three successful styles from the adult line in the junior collection. For example, to make the collection child-friendly, Komono uses hook and velcro fasteners on the watches.

Komono was founded in 2009 by competitive athletes Anton Janssens and Raf Maes. Since then, the label has been producing glasses as visual aids, sunglasses and also ski goggles, because the two founders come from the snowboard scene. Watches are also an integral part of the range. Komono is currently sold in over 80 countries.
