Almost a hundred years ago, the Royal Leerdam Crystal company started the tradition of the Oranjevasje. At the time it was Princess Juliana who received the very first vase on her 18th birthday. Since then, a lot of works of art have been reviewed for various reasons: from the 25-year anniversary of Queen Beatrix to the celebration of 75 years of liberation.
Now it’s Princess Ariane’s turn. In collaboration with Sommer Dutch Glass Art and glass artist Smit, a total of no less than three hundred Oranjevaasje are blown. The vase with serial number 1 goes to the princess and serial numbers 2 to 300 are available to the public.
