After only winning one of the last seven league games, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s fortunes are going wrong. The most recent 1-1 draw against Bremen, who are also in serious trouble, gives little hope of any improvement soon. It is therefore not surprising that the Gladbachers are still looking for possible reinforcements on Deadline Day. Apparently a new player will soon be hitting the Lower Rhine.
Borussia Mönchengladbach have secured the services of Hugo Bolin from Malmö FF. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports this exclusively. Accordingly, Gladbach is transferring around two million euros to the Swedish first division club in order to sign the 22-year-old Swedish international player. Bolin’s contract with his youth club would have expired at the end of the year.
The rail player has already played more than 100 competitive games for Malmö, in which he scored 19 goals.
Bolin also gained experience at international club level and played twelve games in qualifying for the Champions League and 14 games in the Europa League.
Gladbach has already secured two winter loans
The Swede should also be interesting for Gladbach because he can be used quite flexibly offensively. The foal attack department in particular has recently been suffering from a lack of ideas.
So far, Gladbach has already borrowed attacker Alejo Sarco from Bayer Leverkusen and central defender Kota Takai from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter. Bolin could now expand Coach Eugen Polanski’s options once again.
A new, positive influence on Borussia’s game is also urgently needed. Gladbach has now slipped to twelfth place in the table and is only three points away from relegation place 18.
“Sport Bild” recently even speculated that Polanski’s coaching chair could be shaken.
