Borussia Mönchengladbach is threatened with the loss of three key players in the upcoming Bundesliga game at leaders SC Freiburg.
In addition to Ko Itakura, who saw the red card in the 0-1 (0-0) against FSV Mainz 05 because of an emergency brake, Nico Elvedi and Alassane Pléa were also injured.
“Nico Elvedi has twisted his ankle. It looks like an ankle injury. And Lasso Plea has a pull in the adductor/groin area,” said coach Daniel Farke after the first defeat under his responsibility. Both players had been substituted prematurely.
“These are all key players for us. Ko feels like the player of the season for us so far,” Farke continued. His team has to compete in the current one in Freiburg next Sunday.
