The Rhinelander can score against RB and thus move the Saxons a sensitive blow. Meanwhile, a relegation candidate surprises with a very important victory.

Three Big Points for Borussia Mönchengladbach – and a bitter defeat for RB Leipzig: Due to the 1-0 (0: 0) in direct duel on Saturday afternoon, the Gladbachers move past the Saxons to fifth, for Leipzig there were only one win from the last six Bundesliga games.

The 1st FC Heidenheim was able to end up with a very important victory in the fight against the relegation: The team of coach Frank Schmidt surprisingly won 1-0 (1-0) at VfL Wolfsburg and climbed onto relegation place 16. 1: 1 (0: 0).

In front of 52,382 spectators in the Borussia Park, Alassane Pléa (56th minute) scored the goal for the hosts. The Saxons, on the other hand, remained four days before the cup semi-final at VfB Stuttgart, even in the seventh away game without winning.

Leipzig’s chief coach Marco Rose, who worked in Gladbach from 2019 to 2021, had to improvise a lot when he returned to the Borussia Park. In addition to five injured players, the 48-year-old also had to replace his sick goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi and midfield strategist Kevin Kampl at short notice.

Gladbach, on the other hand, started offensive: Franck Honorat caused a lot of danger over the right wing with his pace and passports. U21 international Rocco Reitz was aged as usual in the defensive midfield. But without the blocked small service that Tomáš Čvančara could not replace, the punch in the attack was missing. Leipzig’s defensive chain of five allowed few dangerous situations. In addition, the hosts always had to pay attention to the dangerous RB offensive stars Loïs Openda and Xavi Simons, who are always good for one goal with their individual class.

In the second section, the Gladbacher increased the pressure and, after a number of possibilities, came to the lead goal by Pléa’s header dust. Previously, Vandevoordt could only have a direct acceptance of Ko ItaKura clapped in the Leipzig Tor, then the Frenchman was on the spot with his tenth goal of the season. In the 73rd minute, Borussia’s central defender Nico Elvedi Pech had a header that only hit the inner post. Plea also hit the outer post in the final phase.

Trainer icon Frank Schmidt scored three important points in the Bundesliga descent fight in his anniversary game with the 1st FC Heidenheim. In the deserved 1-0 (1: 0) away win against a terrifyingly weak VfL Wolfsburg, the 51-year-old was on Saturday for a 700th time in a competitive game of his club on the sidelines.

A penalty goal by Marvin Pieringer in the 16th minute gave the table 16. Even for the first time in this Bundesliga season something like a small row of success. After the third game without defeat, the Heidenheimers pushed VfL Bochum from the relegation place again.

On the return of Werder coach Ole Werner to his old place of work, the green-whites also won 3-0 (1-0) thanks to beautiful goals and increased the relegation causes of the weak Kiel over long distances. While the Bremen, which were bumped through the second half of the season, were able to cheer again after six bankruptcies from the past eight competitive games, Kiel has already conceded his 18th season. The distance to the relegation rank increased to five points.

In front of 15,037 spectators in the sold-out Holstein Stadium, the ex-Kiel Marvin Ducksch (25th minute) achieved the Bremen leadership with a dream goal. Felix Agu (59.) increased with a remarkable Schlenzer for the guests before substitute Marco Grüll (90.+3) met.

FC Augsburg is the only team to remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga return-the series of goalkeeper Finn Dahmen has ended. The team of coach Jess Thorup, which has been undefeated for eleven games, came to a 1-1 (0-0) at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on match day 27. After 683 minutes without conceding, keeper Dahmen had to accept a penalty from Andrej Kramarić to 1-1 (71st minute).

Joker Samuel Dessende had put the Fuggerstadt in the lead in the 46th minute. Augsburg can continue to dream of participating in the European Cup-while the long harmless Kraichgauer once again missed a liberation in the relegation battle.
