Hélène Hendriks must be careful not to sit back easily now that her viewing figures are structurally in good order. She started her new weekly talk show De Oranjezondag last night, but it was a very boring broadcast. Nothing really happened and to make matters worse, sidekick Rutger Castricum plays the good family man.

Today Inside expert Victor Vlam falls asleep a bit from the set of Hélène and Rutger, he admits in a message on X. “All those old GeenStijl fragments at De Oranjezondag make me really miss the old Rutger. Was very much the good family man again tonight.”

Anyway: Hélène and Rutger scored good viewing figures yesterday. After the TV hit Miljoenenjacht, they were left with 983 thousand viewers with their Oranjezondag, good for an 18 percent market share in the commercial target group. “Not unexpected because it was promoted enormously and had a dream lead-in,” says ratings expert Tina Nijkamp.
Hélène crushed competitor Renze Klamer. “His talk show was number three in the totals of 9:30 PM and had 523 thousand viewers, almost half of Hélène with De Oranjezondag. But it is remarkable: Slightly higher in the commercial target group, namely 19 percent.”
More salary
Hélène actually deserves a higher salary, according to Tina, who used to be channel manager of SBS 6. “How much does Hélène Hendriks earn? Well, I don’t know that of course, but I suspect that she earns between 4.5 and 5.5 tons per year for her work at SBS 6. That’s a lot of money, but of course not nearly as much as the VI men .”
According to Tina, they take around 1.4 million euros. “And rightly so, because they actually earn a lot more, because they earn an awful lot of money for that channel. And Hélène could actually earn a little more.”
