For many she was an extraordinary actress, a leading figure in Italian theater and television. For me, she was simply my mother, a beacon of love, strength and wisdom.”
A much loved actress and mother
Because for Cesare, Giuditta Saltarini’s greatness went beyond the stage: «Her life was dedicated to art, culture and family. Giuditta Saltarini and Renato Rascel, a great story
Born in the capital on 24 February 1941, Saltarini has gone through all the seasons of Italian entertainment: from revue theater to the big screen, from prose to great television dramas. And then, her love story with Renato Rascel. As in the best romantic comedies, their first meeting took place in a doctor’s office. A stroke of love at first sight: he, already an established star of the Italian variety show, he was struck by that young actress with her innate elegance and bright smile.

She never lost her love for life, that spark that made her special.” The funeral chapel is set up from 3pm to 7pm today at the Campidoglio in the Sala del Carroccio.
