The cameras only activate when there is movement, so that the privacy of Gistel residents is respected. “Anyone who doesn’t do anything wrong has no problem with it,” say Maenhoudt and Theuninck.
With this measure, Gistel not only wants to tackle vandalism, but also create a safer public space for residents and visitors.
