With the victory, Milan reaches 21 points, two points more than rival Internazionale. Earlier on Saturday, the city rival gave away a 2-0 lead against Bologna in San Siro and drew 2-2.

Neither team managed to impress during the first half in Genoa. After the break, Milan substitute Rafael Leão was close to scoring, but keeper Josep Martínez made a nice save on his header. At the other end of the field, Mike Maignan stopped a dangerous effort from Radu Dragusin. Pulisic gave Milan a 1-0 lead 3 minutes before the end with a shot from the turn.

Maignan then received a red card in the last minute of injury time after a wild action. Since Milan had already made five substitutions, striker Olivier Giroud had to put on the goalkeeper gloves. He then saw Albert Gudmundsson’s deflected free kick hit the crossbar. Martínez, Genoa’s goalkeeper, had come forward and also received a red card after a second yellow card.

At Milan, Reijnders played the entire match, Surinamese international Ridgeciano Haps was substituted in injury time at Genoa.

For Martínez it was already his tenth goal in eight matches. Riccardo Orsolini made it exciting again moments later by scoring a penalty, 2-1. Zirkzee scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

At Internazionale, Dutch international Denzel Dumfries was substituted 10 minutes after half-time. Stefan de Vrij and Davy Klaassen remained on the bench. In addition to Zirkzee, Sam Beukema was also in the starting line-up at Bologna. Oussama El Azzouzi and Sydney van Hooijdonk came on in the final phase.

Juventus wins Turin derby

Juventus won the Turin derby 2-0. Federico Gatti and former Ajax player Arkadiusz Milik scored after the break against Torino for the team of coach Massimiliano Allegri.

For the 25-year-old Gatti, who played at a lower level for a long time, it was his first goal in Serie A. After an acrobatic effort from Moise Kean, the defender scored a rebound in two instances. Substitute Milik headed a corner kick into the goal via his shoulder in the 62nd minute. At Juventus, Dutchman Dean Huijsen remained on the bench, Perr Schuurs played the entire match for Torino.
