A 16-year-old girl from Breda has been arrested for defrauding an elderly man from Maasdam. The police report this. The girl posed as a bank employee and told the man that something was wrong with his bank account. She managed to persuade him to hand over his debit card and PIN code. She then stole hundreds of euros from his bank account.
That happened on October 30 last year. The case has been discussed several times in the Bureau Rijnmond investigation program.
This happened for the first time on December 5 with blurred photos of the suspect. This happened because the police already assumed that it was a minor suspect. Then the agreement is that suspects are blurred. However, nothing happened, the girl did not report and no useful tips were received.
The girl was therefore recognizably photographed at Bureau Brabant on December 19. The police then received several tips pointing to the sixteen-year-old girl. Then she reported herself.
The Public Prosecution Service will determine if and when there will be a trial.
