That can say little for many people without knowledge or interest in astrology, but for this actress with 25 years of experience he says practically everything to know about it. “The order, control, cleaning, I fight that is governed because you have to release a little. I work quite that topic. I like to control, think things, I’m very ‘land’. I have the ascendant in Capricorn. Gemini is my sun, which luckily gives me a bit of ‘air’ and it relieves me enough, ”he explains, always with his infallible smile.
She is also friends, she likes to unify the groups, she is fun, fresh, close and sensitive. That sensitivity is embodied in Juana’s character, in this work that has been running for 17 years, Nicolás Vázquezand that stars together with Andrés Gil. There they play a marriage that must face the greatest challenge of their lives, a premature diagnosis of Alzheimer’s.
News: It is a very hard story, how was the first time you read the script?
Gimena Accardi: The first thing that came to me was Nico telling her. He discovered it, read many works to see which one to buy. I had wanted to do a small work, with two characters, and where in the same work I could explore many things, here it became perfect. And when he told me I said: “Please let me do it.” I was dying to do something like that.
News: It is something different because you are very identified with humor, which is anyway very difficult …
Accardi: Even more difficult, I would tell you. But it had been a long time since I wanted to explore something else, at least in the theater. On TV and audiovisual I did have a broader fan. Here was the possibility of doing many things in the same character. As an actress it was a gift.
News: In his social networks he shares many of the comments he receives from the public, the stories.
Accardi: I share a lot and I keep them for me. The messages were always unanimous regarding the reception of the work, of the public, of the criticism, of the colleagues. It is a work that touches very emotional fibers. It is not that the work only speaks of Alzheimer’s, speaks of love, links, the patient and the one who takes care of the patient, whatever the link.
News: You are very close teams, how did you choose Andrés for this character?
Accardi: Nico is a large team trainer in all his work. He focuses on polishing, giving you the tools to better support, trust. Andrés already knew him, he knew he was a very good kid and excellent actor, we also knew him for Cande (Vetrano, his partner) and for common friends. It was the first time that he was doing commercial theater and with a work that exposes you a lot as an actor. It is a crazy thing what he does, he won an ACE prize.
News: What is it like working with Nicolás?
Accardi: We are recontinued, 17 years ago we are together and we worked together since we know each other. It is many years working together, if not worked we would not. It works for us and so far did not bring divorce (he smiles). But rather the opposite, we share a lot of look, I trust his gaze and he in mine. We tell ourselves what we think, we prepare the castings together. We rely a lot and admire a lot. No one better than us to know how much the other can give, to improve and grow, always from love. News: “In other words” is, in short, a love story, how would you define your love story with Nicolás?
Accardi: Beautiful. I always thought about it. It is very magical. We have a very healthy relationship. We went to live together at three months, with which everything could have come out, or all good as it came out. We have a nice coexistence, we admire ourselves, we respect each other, we choose every day for the simple fact of choosing ourselves without any obligation. We also share many spaces and respect the other space a lot when you need to be alone or with its people. We always want the other to shine.
News: It started in this very young media, at 14, did you think it was a game or did you already know that I wanted to live on this?
Accardi: For me it was my total vocation, I never saw anything other than acting. At 10 I asked to take me to do theater because I acted on. In my family nobody acted, imagine, mother psychologist, father lawyer, they scored me in a theater school but always with a lot of presence because it was a world that they did not know and were afraid. After the first casting, a door opened that never closed again, thank God. And I was fortunate to work every year of my life and always have jobs that I liked, with people I wanted. My experience was very positive. Now I am lucky to choose and opt for projects that nourish me as an actress.
News: In the last year he was in two very different proposals such as the police “La Voz Asttent”, and the comedy “Porn and Ice Cream”, how does professional decisions make?
Accardi: I always let it flow. In those cases I auditioned for both projects and stayed in the two. I enjoyed them very much. It was an learning.
News: You were part of the failed “separate” experience, in 2020, the last daily fiction before the pandemic, which was canceled, how do you see the current situation of fiction on open television?
Accardi: I would love to come back. TV consumption, I like the TV we do, the fiction we do. We have people who work spectacular, admire us in all parts of the world. Outside you don’t work like this. Here novels of 200 chapters were made, 30 scenes were recorded per day, a frontline product was worked all year over. The novels, the actors, the technical part, the directors … I think that everything is half cyclical and perhaps at some point we get bored of the platforms and we want to be aware of the novel of the 9 at night. Accardi: The streaming was crazy because I never waited or dreamed it. It flowed. But it is a bit complicated with the actress’s work, streaming is a commitment from Monday to Friday and my source of Laburo is as an actress. It was a spectacular experience. Accardi: That is very crazy. As an actress I always felt a lot the love of women in the street, for the novels, it is difficult to reach that audience, and in the streaming they finished getting to know. I am a normal mine, I am very friendly, I have many friends, and also male friends. I’m always joining groups, I want everyone to have a good time. Something of that energy must be transmitted.
News: Another aspect that stands out is fashion, last year won a Martín Fierro de la Fashion in the best female style in streaming.
Accardi: I love fashion, I’m re flirtatious, I like to think the looks. I come from a mother and a grandmother, three unique daughters, who were always flirtatious, my mother made her own clothes, made her friends, combed them, so I always knew how to make up, I also did it with my friends, I love to think looks For them. I am re aesthetics, it is something that I give ball.
News: What do they expect from people when they come to see “in other words”?
Accardi: That you disconnect with the outside, to give yourself to feel, to live the experience. The work connects you with life. It makes you feel in a world where we are increasingly connected with the superficial, the networks, in a world where we stop feeling, look at us face.
News: What does this 2025 hold?
Accardi: We continue with the work until the end of April, then, if God wants, we would love to make some tour cities, at least half of the year. I also have two audiovisual projects that are about to close, but I still can’t tell them. Hopefully it is a year of a lot of work. And I continue with Olga. A little of everything.
