ZandvoordeOne person was killed and two seriously injured in a serious accident on the A10 (E40) near Zandvoorde (Oostende). A ghost driver collided with a camper, in the direction of Ostend. The roadway is completely blocked.
The wrong-way driver (31) collided head-on with a camper van driving towards Ostend around 11.40 am. That happened about 100 meters past the Zandvoorde exit. The MUG helicopter and various ambulances arrived on the scene, but the 31-year-old wrong-way driver was no longer able to help. He died on the spot. Several occupants of the motorhome suffered serious injuries. They were taken to hospital.

According to the first information, the 31-year-old man, a native of Ostend, would have entered the highway in Zandvoorde. A traffic expert is currently investigating the circumstances.

If you have to go to Ostend, it is best to take a different route. If you are still on your way to the Stad aan Zee from the interior, it is best to take the E40 towards France in Jabbeke. Via the exit Gistel you reach Ostend via the Torhoutsesteenweg. Traffic from Antwerp and Ghent can also take the E34 towards Knokke and thus drive towards Middenkust.
