Gesa Krause ran her seventh World Cup final on Wednesday. The German athlete initially had an unsightly experience.

In the final over 3,000 meters of obstacle, there were a total of six falls at the World Athletics Championship. Gesa Krause also fell in the last round at the moat. The German athlete landed flat on the track after the obstacle, but got up and still rapped the best of the season.

Krause came to the finish after 9: 14.27 minutes and could even smile. In the ARD she said afterwards: “If you are there seven times, you have a different scenario seven times. I didn’t want to have it in the end. Although I have to say that it has made no difference in the placement.”

She explained: “It is a shame because I didn’t want to lie on all fours. But I didn’t do anything. I guess it was concentration that was missing in the end. I could have been able to get out for a few more seconds if I hadn’t made a stomach clap.”

In the end, the 33-year-old emphasized that she was satisfied with her placement, even if it didn’t work with a medal this time. Gesa Krause has won twice Edelemall at World Championships in her sporting career. In 2015 in Beijing, she secured bronze as well as in 2019 in Doha.

Gesa Krause summed up her World Cup as follows: “It’s a great time, a great memory.” Her German teammate Lea Meyer took the 12th place in the finals and arrived after 9: 24.42 minutes.
