Gerry Weber International AG outsources its procurement activities.
On Friday, the clothing supplier from Halle in Westphalia announced a strategic partnership with the Düsseldorf sourcing company Techno Design GmbH.
The parent company of Gerry Weber, Taifun and Samoon is still responsible for sourcing itself, but Techno Design will take over the existing procurement activities from June 1st.
Suppliers have already been informed about this step and meetings are planned for next week, a spokeswoman told FashionUnited. The aim is to continue working with the previous suppliers, but Techno Design will have freedom of decision in the future. The Düsseldorf-based company will also be responsible for the brand’s existing sustainability requirements.
In the meantime, Gerry Weber wants to focus on its core competencies again, such as the further development of its brands, the design of collections and sales. The decision comes a few weeks after the company announced the reorganization and restructuring of its retail business.
