Germany reforms process for restitution of Nazi looted art: current owners’ consent is no longer required

The German government has agreed to a new scheme for the return of art stolen by the Nazi regime. There will be an arbitration court that will hear requests for restitution. Culture Minister Claudia Roth said in a statement that Germany can “better fulfill its historical responsibilities.”
