Germany celebrates dream start and manufactures Hungary

In the preliminary round, Germany meets strong opponents. At the start against Hungary, the team got a good dose of self -confidence.
The German national ice hockey team fulfilled the role of favorites and celebrated a World Cup start. The team of national coach Harold Kreis defeated the selection of Hungary 6: 1 (2: 0, 2: 0, 2: 1). In Group B, Germany is initially tied with the USA and the upcoming opponent from Kazakhstan (Sunday, from 4:20 p.m. in the T-Online Live ticker).
Double shooter Dominik Kahun (11th and 60th minute) put the Germans in the lead early. WM debutant Josh Samanski (17th), Lukas Kälble (35th), Frederik Tiffels (40th) and Alexander Ehl (46th) also scored the goals for the selection of the German Ice Hockey Association (DEB) in front of 6,184 spectators in the Jyske Bank boxing in Herning. Gergo Ambrus scored Hungary’s honor goal (49th).
In the goal, the NHL-Goalie Philipp Grubauer gave the first assignment, in the second game 24 hours later Mathias Niederberger is expected to be between the posts. National coach Kreis had emphasized that he had “two number one goalkeepers”. The Berlin World Cup debutant Eric Mik and his club colleague Manuel again and the third goalkeeper Arno Tiefensee were not yet registered.
Despite two earlier overpayment situations, the DEB selection came into play, the precision in the passing game was missing-not least because of the poor ice quality. It helped at the leadership gate, when the puck ended up unintentionally with Justin Schütz, who served Kahun. After that, things went much better: Samanski used the exact pass from Lukas Reichel to 2-0. “A very solid third,” said Kahun at ProSieben, “at the beginning there were a few nervous bad passes.”
In the middle section, Grubauer got more work because the careless mistakes were taken into account. Then Yasin Ehliz met in the power play, but the referees decidedly followed by video evidence on goalkeeper disability (27th). Calple after a counterattack and tiffels after the most beautiful combination of the game caused clear conditions. EHL and Kahun scored more goals in the final third.
