The German U17 national team celebrated an important victory over host Albania at the European Championship and prevented an early tournament KO. After the bitter 0: 3 at the start against France, Marc-Patrick Meister’s team won 4-0 on Thursday evening in Elbasan. The French play against Portugal in the evening, against which the DFB juniors will probably have a final for moving into the quarter-finals on Sunday. The three countries each have three points.
Jeremiah Mensah from Bayer Leverkusen took the lead for the German selection in the seventh minute, Eintracht Frankfurt Alexander Staff increased a short time later (20th).
