A bizarre disappearance in Germany. The police are looking for the driver/owner of a Porsche 911 GT3, which was left dejected next to a field after a crash on the A66 towards Frankfurt. Enthusiasts know: this is a car with a price tag of more than 220,000 euros. You wouldn’t leave a car like that behind, would you?

And yet the police in the German state of Hesse have been looking for the owner of this extremely expensive Porsche 911 GT3 for a week now.
Hit the brakes hard
The Südosthessen police said in a statement that the accident itself took place last Thursday, April 30, near the Hanau-Nord junction, about 20 kilometers from Frankfurt. Witnesses saw the driver of the Porsche slam on the brakes at an exit just after 9:30 p.m. The man then lost control of the vehicle and crashed twice into the guardrail. Then the Porsche sped away.
Police found the battered car a little later, abandoned in a field along a road near Bruchköbel, with the door open. “Multiple wreckage and spilled fluids indicate a forceful collision,” police said. Photos show that the front of the Porsche in particular was damaged: the bumper, radiator and headlights were destroyed. There is also damage at the rear.
The person behind the wheel fled on foot and is missing. It is still not clear who the driver was, nor whether he was the owner of the Porsche. Or was the car stolen? The fact that the Porsche has Serbian license plates does not make the story any easier.
In any case, it is a curious matter. A Porsche 911 GT3, with 510 hp and speeds of up to 313 kilometers per hour, is a very expensive sports car. The new price in Germany is at least 209,000 euros, with us you have to pay at least 220,000 euros without options. The high-performance sports car normally retains its value very well, which also makes used models very expensive. Smashed or not, who would leave such a machine behind?
Facebook is buzzing with theories. Several users also say that they would like to pick up the 911 GT3 if they can keep it.
