German parachutists miss World Cup podium

Despite convincing performances, the German parachutists just missed out on medals at the World Championships in Eloy/Arizona.

In the first of two blocks of the title fights, Max Manow from Hamburg achieved fourth place in the Canopy Piloting discipline, the best placing among the starters of the German Parachute Sports Association (DFV).

Germany finished fifth in the team ranking.

From Wednesday the second part of the World Championships will follow for the DFV jumpers with the disciplines Formation Skydiving, Speed ​​Skydiving and Artistic Events.

A total of 26 German athletes are starting, including speed skydiving European champion Marco Hepp (Günzburg) who is the favorite for gold.
