German Open: Stuttgart is again the “hub of the dance world”

There’s dancing again in Stuttgart. After two years of the compulsory Corona break, the largest dance tournament in the world is taking place again – the German Open.

After a two-year Corona break, the world’s largest dance tournament, the German Open Championships (GOC), can finally take place again from August 9th to 13th, 2022. It’s a small step back to normality when dance music sounds again in the Beethoven Hall or in the Alte Reithalle.

More than 1,000 couples from over 50 nations are expected. Activists from Russia and Belarus are not allowed to start. The highlights of the five days are once again the Grand Slam tournaments in the Standard and Latin disciplines on Friday and Saturday. Marius-Andrei Balan and Khrystyna Moshenska from the Black and White Club Pforzheim will be there. They are the defending champions in the “Latins”.

Tip: German Open on Saturday in the live stream

On Saturday, August 13th we will broadcast the German Open Championships (GOC) in live stream. Of 8:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m It’s about the world titles in Boogie-Woogie and Grand Slam Latin. GOC: the largest of its kind

46 individual tournaments for professionals and amateurs, in standard and latin, from children to seniors and two decisions of the wheelchair dancers are on the program. And Boogie-Woogie is once again about titles and medals at the World Championships – for the seventh time in Stuttgart. For the first time in the schedule there is a tournament for the seniors. Here the older partner may be at least 75 years old, the younger at most 70 years old.

Anyone can dance

With a special campaign, the German Dance Sport Association wants to inspire children and young people to dance and win new members for its clubs. As part of the GOC, the event “Tanz Dich frei!” instead of. Workshops with top trainers in different dance styles are on the program. There is also a stage program and lots of music.

Tickets for the largest dance tournament in the world can be purchased online via the German Open Championships website. The hall plans can also be viewed online. Day tickets cost between 47 and 77 euros (seated) or 40 euros (standing), for children (between six and 15 years) 20 euros. Season tickets are available between 170 and 240 euros. All prices do not include a ten percent advance booking fee (maximum 15 euros).
