So here we are now in the Players Lounge. We just got them in August. Let’s start here! We have a pool game, billiards, a table here where Jan can play against me. will lose 100%. Just like my father. When we get over here. Here are the trophies. In the background we have a picture of the National Championship we won in ’23. This is Rose Bowl. They also have original jerseys. Helmets? This is National Championship. Trophies from the playoffs. The Roosevelt Trophy. And then of course here is. the huge thing, what an experience. But to be honest, the Rose Bowl game the week before was much worse against Alabama. Nothing. Last game against them to win in overtime. The. That was definitely the craziest game I’ve experienced in my career. Jay McCarthy. The. He was a typical captain. The starting quarterback. What? The. What kind of player he is. What kind of person he is. So without that. Without him, all these trophies wouldn’t be here. And he performed so well in both games that we ended up winning both games and basically won the Superbowl, Champions League, whatever the Bundesliga wants to call it. And that’s the most you can win in college football. We’ve brought this back to Napo since 1997, the first National Championship, and the last three or four years. So many older players who were captains on the team. 1997, keep coming back and talking to us. And they were so proud when we came back to Marburg with this huge, awesome golden trophy. That is. We put our team on the books, so to speak. And of course it is special. Not just for us, but for the players who played at Michigan before and for a long time between 1997 and 2023. But the trophy is here and I can’t get away from here.
These are the trophies, the ones we play around every year. The first here is The Brown Jerk between Michigan and Minnesota. This is always the game between the two teams and two universities. That’s a long history from before. Michigan brought a huge water jug, which was the only thing in Germany, three 3.5 liters, to the game, because back then there were no bottles and nothing. It was then stolen and it became a trophy. Typical American. Cool. Well then, let’s come over. That’s the trophy between us and Northwestern that we play every year too. These were the two, two teams with the first dark-skinned people on the team. That’s why it’s of course a great trophy for college football in general. So, and then we come to what is probably the biggest of the biggest trophy there is, the Paul Bunyan between Michigan State and Michigan. Of course we play every year. Every year about it. I’ve never lost to them in my time here. That means it’s been here for a few years. And of course this is one of the most famous trophies in college football and is always the same. Getting your colleague after the game and knowing that he will be traveling with us on the bus back to Napo or staying here. If it’s a home game. But all these trophies are awesome and give you a reason to play for something every week.
So here the background image was after the win against against against High State. She’s all the people, all the people in the field. You don’t even see artificial turf anymore. And my dad and uncle are also somewhere in the field. That’s just you can see how much that means. How much is the game for? For Michigan, for the fans. And she is. Yes, they are. The stands are still full. That’s 120,000. The ones that are right now. had the best day of their lives. The. The space storm. That is. That’s awesome. As a player. It’s an awesome feeling. This only happens for good reasons. And you can find me in there somewhere. Or not. But it’s fun for the first 15, 20 minutes. And then it takes two hours to get into the locker room. It’s not that fun, but that’s it. It was snowing. Lots and lots of people who are all really happy and just having a great time.
We’re lucky that we’re at Jordan at Michael Jordan is the top basketball player best basketball player of all time. LeBron James. Michael Jordan is like that again. LeBron James is an Ohio State sponsor. Michael Jordan is our sponsor. That’s why I would never, ever say anything good about him. But here it is. Here you can see the normal shoes that you get. And then of course there are the expensive players, exclusive shoes, the ones where there are really just all the games. So if you have the shoes, you’ve played. You only get it after four years. If you have a degree and have played all four years, there are a few. 15 to 20,000 of them are worth so you get four or five pairs. I then get them every day. I’m looking forward to it. So, these are normal shoes. And then over here you have the football cleats, where of course there were thousands of them. Of course you have your eleven retros here, which many people wear as normal shoes. Of course, it’s completely normal for us as cleats. Nike Cleats Kicker Online. It depends on what kind of position everything is playing. What? Everything you need.
So, let’s now come to the Nutrition Lounge, where it is. Then you first fill your body up before training, after training, whatever. Whatever you need, but here you have all your nutrition stuff, your energy, gummies. These are really cool rubbers. These are like gummy bears or like an energy drink. Then you have your chips. Actually all healthy things. Microwave. Here they make smoothies before training and after training. Here you have your pills. VitaminC ABCDEFG. And over here, of course, you have whatever you need. 5000 types of shakes protein shakes. Fresh, fresh, fresh fruit, cheese, bagels, en crosstables. These are basically like peanut butter jelly little sandwiches that are frozen. There you have your immunity, darling. Your vitamin charts. Water. Gatorade. Whatever you need. They have. Do they have these so I can maintain my weight? Do I eat around that? Around 10,000 calories a day. But it’s not that difficult. Here strawberry milkshake. Strawberry Shake Top. I hate. I hate the shakes that only taste like protein. This is as cool as it used to be in elementary school when the milkman came by. Do you have Strawberry Milk yet? And my second, I think I would say. Crosstable. Nice peanut butter. Jelly Sandwich. Lots of calories.
Yes. Where are we here? What do you see in space? Where you spend more, more time than in any other room in this entire building. This is the greatest glory in all of America. You’ll see that right away when we go all the way up and get a great overview of the whole place here. But here you train. Here. Here is. Here there are. There is everything here. This is where you become a better, better person. Better, better teammate. Better football player. If you don’t give everything here, there can be nothing out there. Yes, I think the strongest I ever played with was through Michigan. Chris Jenkins. Defensive tackle for the Bangles was also a second round pick. I played that my first two years. The guy’s name is. Everyone calls him a mutant. And if you have the nickname, there’s a reason for it. So I don’t think there are enough records in the War Room here. For the guy. Sometimes we had to do extendos on the dumbbells because the sea needed multiple plates. The guy is awesome. He’s so strong. Such a hot guy. I definitely had that much too. So many thoughts to just give up. But that’s the easy way out. And these are. That’s what they want. What the coaches want from you. They want to see, how far can you go? What can you do, what can you give? But I’d be lying if I. If I were to say I’ve never been in a five minute plank. After the whole workout and I was shaking and said afterwards that I loved it. I mean, here the boys puke, the boys, they sweat, the boys. But I think that’s what brings a team together at the end of the day. There are thousands of machines that you can see here. Fame all over the world. And this doesn’t look like a classic Magid in Chorweiler, but for me the two things here are the stars and the gentleman. These are things where we were just talking about quince. So this is definitely the colleague who will definitely get you close. These are natural. Here we are in Michigan. It snows here until March. Here. Here you derive with. With your teammates and see how fast you are. How fast can you get up there? There is. Are there prizes? But there are things there too. You’re not the fastest. You may also have to go swimming in cold water or roll in the snow. That means, here, here you start, the competition, the competition. We do a lot of things here. And then of course here. This one. This doesn’t look like a classic staircase. That’s almost it. Will this be explosive? What they test. How fast can you. Can you get up there? And that is. I’ve seen things there. For example, Kenneth Grant, who went to the Dolphins last year. I believe the 13th pick in the draft to the Dolphins. It weighs 340 pounds. He’s one of the fastest people who can jump up there. And I think at the end of the day that’s an athletic freak. And that’s why he was drafted 13th to the Dolphins. The whole Wade Room. Everything has been renovated. Who cares? But here was the guy who wanted to have the biggest, biggest fame in America, which he also has or had after he got it. And it really doesn’t matter what you want to train, you’ll find fame here in the forest, no matter what muscle you want to train. We have it all here. And then at the top we have. Then we have our cardio station and you can also play a little basketball. As you can see, there are a few guys playing basketball. Playing. And if you’re bored between meetings or between practice and But that’s so clean and I would say one of the most important things. I think in football in general some of the best things, the best stories always come from the coach, because he’s just a special person and no matter who I meet, as soon as they know that I played, the first question is tell me one of the best things. Give me an awesome story. There are so many stories. But since we’re standing here in the room right now, this is the guy who. He wants to prove to his players that we’re doing this for a reason. And it’s not just you who do that and I watch you. And I don’t know, I can’t even tell you. I can’t even count how many times Coach Haber stood on the line with us here, or was in the squad with us, or was doing bicep curls in the giant mirror at the back. And of course he always has the way you know him, a blue Michigan polo cap, his glasses, a Diet Coke and his Kakibans on the train with us. The one who’s sweating is almost vomiting. And I think that’s one of the reasons why everyone loves cooking.
