German NFL star Amon-Ra St. Brown dreams of the playoffs

Last NFL season, Amon-Ra St. Brown narrowly missed making the playoffs with the Detroit Lions. In the coming season, the wide receiver definitely wants to make it into the postseason.

“I know we won a couple of games last year, we were pretty strong, but I really want to make the playoffs,” St. Brown told the Detroit Free Press.

The 23-year-old made a huge leap forward with the Detroit Lions last NFL season. The Michigan franchise has won eight of its last ten games and finished with a record of nine wins and eight losses.

In the NFC North it was enough for the Lions behind the Minnesota Vikings (13:4) and ahead of the Green Bay Packers (8:9) and the Chicago Bears (3:14) for second place. A place for the wild card round of the NFL playoffs did not jump out for Detroit. St. Brown hopes that will change in the future.

Amon-Ra St. Brown believes in NFL playoffs

“I feel like Detroit really wants it as a city. I feel like we really want it as a team too. I feel like we have the guys who can do it so I’m looking forward to Winning games week after week”, the German NFL star looked ahead.

“I’ve spoken to other players who said to me, ‘Boy, you guys have towards the end [der vergangenen Saison, Anm.d.Red.] properly accelerated. We didn’t want to play you guys in the playoffs,” St. Brown revealed of conversations he’s had with NFL players from the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers.

The wide receiver plays a big role in head coach Dan Campbell’s offense. Last NFL season, St. Brown rushed for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns. The performances were rewarded with a Pro Bowl nomination.
