German medal hardly possible – then comes this jump

It was only about 40 centimeters that secured Germany bronze in the team competition. With a giant leap, Markus Eisenbichler suddenly catapulted the German men back into the race for a podium place.

The German gentlemen met on Monday in an exciting final Bronze secured in ski jumping. For large parts of the competition, a medal seemed hardly possible for Germany – but then Markus Eisenbichler came along and landed at 139.5 meters in the second round. Nevertheless, even after that, the Germans still had to worry.

You can see Markus Eisenbichler’s jump, which put the Germans on course for bronze, and the reaction of the team a few minutes later in the video here or directly above.
