German Leather Museum shows exhibition about the design duo

The German Leather Museum in Offenbach is showing the exhibition “Tsatsas: Insight, Retrospect, Outlook” from April 1st. The exhibition highlights the creative process of the design duo Esther and Dimitrios Tsatsas. Visitors are given a comprehensive insight into the creation of the bags and accessories – from the source of inspiration, through the first draft and the crafting process, to advertising concepts.

The reason for the exhibition is the tenth anniversary of Tsatsas. In 2021, the two creative minds realized themselves with the leather bag and accessories label and have since developed their own design language that uses clear lines and sophisticated details.

“Tsatsas: Insight, Retrospect, Outlook” uses various exhibits to show how the design process works. For example, blank patterns for the bags are shown, on which the design duo’s instructions for processing are noted. Explanations of the materials used – such as leather, metal and brass – and their properties were also included in the exhibition.

The highlight of the exhibition is an installation in which more than 30 models from the past ten years are presented in an endless loop on a conveyor belt. The pockets are arranged randomly rather than chronologically or hierarchically. This type of presentation illustrates the label’s timeless approach, the museum writes in a statement.
