No legal claim
The British company that owns the rights to the 007 names wanted to enforce in court that this would no longer be allowed. But according to the German judge, Danjaq LLC cannot legally claim the name Moneypenny.
Miss Moneypenny is one of the regular supporting characters in the long-running series of James Bond books and films. The secretary of the British secret service maintains a warm, flirty relationship with secret agent 007.
The character Moneypenny appears in 23 of the 25 official Bond films and has been played by four actresses over the decades. Lois Maxwell (1927 – 2007) played her between 1962 and 1985. In the last three films the role was played by Naomie Harris.
