The Telekom Baskets Bonn won the German duel against the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the Champions League and are still at the top of Group J. The defending champions celebrated an 80:75 (53:38) success in the round of 16.
It was the second win in the second game for the Bonn team, while their Bundesliga rivals from Ludwigsburg had to admit defeat for the first time in the second group phase of the competition. Two teams from each of the four groups of four advance to the quarterfinals (best of three).
Bonn around top scorer Thomas Kennedy (20 points) pulled away a little in the second quarter (31:20). The guests returned after the break, but were still defeated in the end.
For the Bonn team it was the third win in the third game against the MHP Riesen this season. The Telekom Baskets also prevailed in the league and cup.
