German consul suspected of murdering Belgian husband flees to Frankfurt: “I am a diplomat, nothing can happen to me!”

The German consul suspected of murdering his Belgian husband in Rio de Janeiro has gone missing after a series of blunders by Brazilian courts. That delayed too long to start criminal proceedings, which allowed the consul to leave prison. And because the judge “forgot” to confiscate his passport, he was also able to board a plane to Germany without any problems.
