German Chancellor argues for smoother rules in Green Deal to support car brands such as BMW and Volkswagen

The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on the European Union on Tuesday to provide “more flexibility” in the legislation on electric cars. With that he partly meets the sighs of the German car industry, which increasingly question the ban on the sale of cars with combustion engines in 2035.
