RIESA – The party congress of the German political party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has officially chosen Alice Weidel as its chancellor candidate. This means that she will lead the party in the Bundestag elections on February 23. It currently seems impossible that she will actually become chancellor, as according to the polls the AfD will not achieve a majority for a long time and other parties say they do not want to work with them.
