Gerard Joling has tried to organize a reconciliation dinner between Evert Santegoeds and Rachel Hazes, but that has so far come to nothing. “I wouldn’t have a problem with it.”
According to Rachel Hazes, there is hardly any person on earth more terrible than Evert Santegoeds. She apparently devotes fourteen (!) pages to the Private Editor-in-Chief in her new book. Where did their argument actually start? “I don’t know either. It was just there. Because of the stories we told, I think,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.
‘She provokes it!’
Evert knows no better than that he is arguing with Rachel. “During the time that André was still alive, things were already very bad between her and me, and that never got better. Yes, of course there were a few more stories after that that made things no longer work out at all, such as the inheritance.”
Does he occasionally give out a pinprick on purpose? “No, but yes, that’s not necessary. If you just describe what’s happening in her life, then you already have plenty of news. This week with those breasts… I can’t really name it. She also provokes it quite a bit. Just think about it if you stand in the middle of Dam Square with that shop window!”
Geer dinner
Their mutual good friend Gerard Joling has sometimes suggested a reconciliation dinner. “Attempts have been made to get us together. Gerard Joling once said: ‘I’ll organize a dinner, then you both come and talk it out.’”
He continues: “There are plenty of people who say: ‘If you had met under different circumstances, it would have been very nice.’ Yes, that may be the case, but that is not the case and she is denying it. Gerard is still preparing his pots and pans, but she doesn’t want to. I wouldn’t have a problem with it.”
Funeral
You might wonder why Evert would prefer to be friends with the stars, but apparently he attaches great importance to a good relationship with celebrities. “More showbiz feuds have worked out completely. Things have also been good with Gordon, but then things go wrong again, of course.”
Will there ever be a big meeting where he reconciles with all his celebrity haters? “That will probably be my funeral. Hahaha.”
