The semi-finalists for the 13th edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers have been announced. The twenty designers were selected from more than 2,400 applicants worldwide. They will present their collections on March 4th and 5th in a Paris showroom.

Among those chosen are some well-known names from the UK and USA. From the UK, the men’s fashion brand Derrick by Luke Derrick and Ponte, the women’s and men’s fashion label by Harry Pontefract, are there. They highlight London’s focus on progressive tailoring and cross-category design.

Women’s fashion designer Colleen Allen is taking part from the USA. Also included are Thai-American duo Cherry W. Rain-Phuangfueang and Teerapat Phuangfueang of Nong Rak. The shortlist also reflects the prize’s expanding global reach. For the first time, designers from Georgia, Kenya and Thailand are represented.

Delphine Arnault will host the semi-finalists’ showroom in the newly restored La Samaritaine department store. There, a committee of more than 80 experts will select eight finalists. Public voting will take place from March 4th to 8th via a dedicated website.

The main prize is endowed with 400,000 euros and a one-year mentorship within the LVMH ecosystem. The Karl Lagerfeld Prize and the Savoir Faire Prize are each endowed with 200,000 euros and targeted mentoring. In addition, three fashion graduates will work in one of the luxury group’s design studios for a year.
