George Crumb (1929-2022), composer of large music for small ensembles

He was the last ‘Big C’ on the register of great American composers, George Crumb, who died on February 6 at the age of 92. They had little in common, by the way, Aaron Copland, John Cage, Elliott Carter and Crumb, except for the first letter of their last name, their profession and the fact that they passed on the nickname ‘nestor of American music’ to each other.
