In short, the generation born between 1987 and 1996, that of the current thirty-year-olds, with mine (Gen X, almost Boomers) it only has the century of birth in common. And what a century.
For the rest, the 2000s of their early youth made them digital nativestherefore light years away from me, who started composing pieces on a typewriter and took photos which I then at least printed.

They say that today adolescence drags on until the age of 30. I say that that innocent age ends when you enter the world of work. And it’s clear that it happens to this generation very, very late.
There are two possibilities: delving into traditional professions, obtaining a lifelong precarious job which delays their entry into the adult world. Or use their digital birth to venture into the virtual universe, in the guise of those who program it or fill it with content, making it a business.
So, while in the past realizing oneself through creativity was a peculiarity of artists, today it is essential to take flight and stand out from others. It’s not easy. But above all it doesn’t last, because everything is forgettable and tomorrow is another day. Of course, the world of thirty-year-olds is within reach, or rather on the screen.
Distances are thus canceled out but cognition is also lost. Geography is an abstract concept, until a war interrupts an air route and then we are forced to deal with it.
In love things are no better: they are not yet fluid enough to enjoy the doubling of the relational market, but not so SaldaVinciani enough to believe in a “yes” forever.
